Transferring Calls on VoIP phones

There are two different ways to transfer a call:

  1. Attended transfer - where you put the caller on hold, dial the person you're transferring to and speak to them, then finally transfer the call to them.
  2. Unattended (or 'blind') transfer - where you just send the caller on to the destination number and it will ring on that phone as if the caller had dialled them originally.

Step 2: Place the Call on Hold and Dial Another Number

Step 3: Speak to the Intended Receiving Party

Upon dialling the new number, interact with the intended receiving party. Your interface should now display two calls - the original one on hold and your active call with the intended receiving party.

Step 4: Execute the Attended Transfer

While still communicating with the receiving party, navigate back to the control panel. Select the 'Transfer' option and then 'Attended Transfer'. A list of calls will appear. Choose the call that you wish to transfer. After your selection, the call will be transferred to the receiving party.

Prior to executing the transfer, your left panel should reflect that you're connected to two parties. Once the transfer is complete, it will update to display the status of the transferred call.
